LYNETTE STULTING
Lynette Stulting's
piano career started in South Africa, where she studied
under Joseph Stanford at the University of Pretoria. She
continued her studies under Professor Gyorgy Nador at the
Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
Lynette has been
the recipient of many bursaries and completed BMus, BMus
(Hons) and MMus (Performance) all Cum Laude. She also
completed UNISA’s Performer’s Licentiate as well as the
Teacher’s Licentiate for which she received the P J Lemmer
Overseas Scholarship.
She has won several national competitions and appeared as
soloist with the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, the Natal
Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Town Symphony Orchestra, the
National Chamber Orchestra and several others,
performing concertos by Beethoven, Mozart, Prokofiev, Grieg
and Chopin.
Lynette is a chamber music player and versatile accompanist
who works with soloists across the UK as well as Europe, and
especially likes to work with and coach young musicians on
international music courses.
She is a highly experienced teacher whose students have won
competitions at UK national level. Lynette taught piano at
the RCM
Junior Department for several years and still teaches there
on a part time basis. She was appointed Head of Piano at
Abingdon School in September 2017 and Head of Instrumental
Studies in 2022.
She travels extensively as an examiner for the Associated
Board and adjudicates regularly. She has also given
masterclasses and performed in China, the United States as
well as South Africa. Lynette is performing in Castelnuovo
di Farfa, Italy in July, as part of the International Arte
Piano Festival.
Lynette has started a concert series in 2006, which attracts
artists nationally, as well as from Europe,
serving
the local community with high quality performances. She is
especially interested in promoting young artists on their
way to the international stage.
